Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's custom coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique keycase to commemorate the brand's centennial. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying "B" paperweight, a set of keys as well as a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

It is the perfect gift to greet a new owner of their luxurious car.

Aesthetics

As a company that is primarily focused on design, Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. It's evident in the exact positioning of its quilting, the choice of leather sourced from by-products of cattle, the wood from sustainably managed forests and the creative patterns on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you walk up to it with its striking sculptural appeal and power through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top car. Its rear tonneau, as an example, showcased the biggest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this unique design, quality and attention to detail that has established Bentley as the most sought-after automobile brand. The company continues pushing boundaries with the latest technologies and craftsmanship. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear sunroof, as well as a custom-designed Apple iPad docking station.

A century after its creation, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership following years of wrangling with BMW - celebrated its centenary in the year 2019. The company planned a range of special events and launches to commemorate the occasion before planning for a pandemic became a top priority.

Design

Bentley is a luxury car manufacturer that produces lavish and extravagant cars. But even keys stand out. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver. It features the large 'B' symbol which lets everyone know that you're a Bentley. It also has the years 1919 and 2019 to commemorate the company's centenary.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and redeveloped by Bentley Mulliner, to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to offer passengers unparalleled comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. The custom heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was created to give each passenger the ideal climate control settings.

Alongside a series of elegantly executed styling revisions as well as a suite of stylishly executed styling revisions, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine that is capable of producing 560bhp and 479lbft of torque. This powerhouse is enhanced by a new suspension design that offers Bentley's famously quiet ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a bespoke specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars manufactured in 2019. The cabin is decorated with cross-stitching as well as contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. A custom Bentley key case is included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

bentley key programming  has a button that opens the trunk, and another button which starts the car. The key also has a button to turn on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight spot. This feature makes it easier to get into and out of your car.

Each key takes two days to create. The key is cut by hand, shaped by hand, stitched after which it is sealed and polished to give a superior result. It is light and compact and matches the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar with the Volkswagen Phaeton's huge car key, but feels more heavy and luxurious.

bentley key  comes with Secure-A-Key that helps to prevent theft of keys with no key. This device is inserted into the remote-control key fob. It will shut it off after a few minutes of inactivity, which prevents thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that are able to unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive style reflects the company's values of exquisite craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and cutting-edge technology. The headquarters in Crewe is home to more than 4000 employees who are responsible for the development, design, and production of Bentley vehicles. They apply their skills that have been passed through generations to modern automotive technologies. This is the hallmark of British manufacturing at its finest.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers create their own car. The customers sit at a set of images referred to as "mood stations" and select a series of photos ranging from picturesque landscapes to sporting events that inspire them to design their own. Each time a selection is made the pattern that emerges shows the model of the Bentley, as well as the color and style preferences for the customized Bentley.

The guests are given an individual key case created by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps which light the door's opening path with the owner's name and/or emblem as they arrive at the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours to construct and build the Mulsanne. The key to this time-consuming effort is a reluctance to take advantage of modern technology. Instead of using a machine to space the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers are required to park their vehicles manually, rather than using sensors built-in to direct them to perpendicular and paralell spots.

In the course of the event, Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities by presenting a special example that was the Mulsanne W.O.  bentley key programming , which pays homage to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars are available in 100. a special key that displays an image of the 1930 8 Litre's crankshaft.
